CLAI 2011
The Latin American Federation if Internal Auditors (FLAI, initials in English), designated the Institute of Internal Auditors of Costa for the organization of the XVI Latin American Congress of Internal Audit, 2011 (CLAI 2011) which will take place in October 2011 in Costa Rica. We feel very proud of that designation.
Once more we will make our best efforts to achieve a successful completion of this congress in our country, small in territory but internationally known for its large variety of natural resources and wonderful tourist attractions, such as the Poas Volcano and the Arenal Volcano, as well as its many white- and silver-sand beaches with remarkable accommodation infrastructure, which offers full services. An additional advantage is the short distances between tourist attractions, which allows, for example, going from a forest area to a beach in one hour.
By developing current topics in the auditing field, internal as well as external, renowned an knowledgeable experts will transmit their knowledge and experiences, important for the practice of our profession.
One of the main objectives of this important Congress is to raise awareness on the need to practice auditing under the new financial information and audit practices for the effectiveness of the public sector and the proper development of private activities.
In this respect, CLAI 2011 will develop the following subjects: Best Practices; Risk, Control and Corporate Government; Effective Audit Techniques and Tools; Information Technology; Ethics, compliance, fraud prevention and detection. With these topics, we will be adapting to the needs demanded by globalization. On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Internal Auditors of Costa Rica, it is my pleasure to invite you to take part in this significant Congress, sponsored by The Institute of Internal Auditors and the Latin Americana Federation of Internal Auditors (FLAI).
This invitation is extended for us to make an effort to continue being responsible professionals, through continuing education for our own benefit and that of the institutions for which we work.
We will be looking forward to seeing you there!
